Why scheduled aircraft maintenance?

Some say to me “If it aint broke, don’t fix it”. So tell me that again as your wing comes off in flight. Scheduled maintenance is how we find problems in advance, to avoid failure in flight. Here’s an example of  AD 002-12-92, spot the crack in this Stampe wire attach bracket..

This SV4 floor found damaged between the lower wing attach fittings, probably from over tightening the tie rods….

Here is what happens when you bolt an unprotected tailplane attach bracket to bare wood. The alloy exfoliates and the tailplane comes loose… Rust1

It’s far safer and cheaper in the long run to employ someone with the knowledge, experience and qualifications to do the job properly!
